Discussion on the difference between an ERV system and a HRV system (View full conversation on Mobilize.io)
The E stands for Enthalpic - these systems have a porous heat exchanger core, designed to transfer moisture as well as heat to incoming air (necessary for some dry climates where they have low RH, which is not the case in most of NZ). HRV's have a solid core so only heat is transferred with all moisture pushed out via exhaust air or condensate line.
