Resene Broadwall Waterborne Wallboard Sealer is a water reducible first coat for plasterboard walls and air-dry stoppings. Designed to minimise porosity and textural differences.

Resene Broadwall Waterborne Wallboard Sealer  has been certified by Environmental Choice NZ as well as independently reviewed by EnviroSpec for its points contribution potential in Green Star NZ and Homestar building rating systems.

Unwanted paint and paint containers can be returned to the Resene PaintWise paint and paint packaging recovery programme. Returns are donated to community groups, sent to solvent recovery, packaging is recycled and other paint goes into covering graffiti and research on alternative uses. Additional benefits include:

• Good adhesion and binding of air-dried stoppings.
• Minimum fibre raising of paper.
• Excellent hold-out of topcoats.
• Very good opacity.

Resene started its quest towards more sustainable practices in the 1950s when it introduced waterborne paint. In 1996 Resene became the first New Zealand paint company to offer an extensive range of Environmental Choice approved products, Resene has since continued innovating in this space. In 2007 Resene Zylone Sheen VOC Free was introduced, and more recently Non VOC tinters have been introduced. The Cool Colours range provides exterior paints formulated to reflect solar radiation that would normally be absorbed. This is claimed to reduce substrate stress, improve paint longevity, and can help reduce heat absorption through building fabric which in turn could mean less air conditioning requirements. Resene also operates the PaintWise recycling programme, which includes a world-first" mobile paint collection and recovery

Application and Purpose

Typical uses:
• Air-dry (polymer based) stoppings and finishing compounds
• Paperfaced plasterboard

Application:
Resene Broadwall Waterborne Wallboard Sealer may be applied by brush, speed brush, synthetic pile roller or spray. See Data Sheet D403 and product label for full details.

Limitations:
Not as good as Resene Sureseal in the areas of stain resistance or wet adhesion.

Installation and Maintenance

Resene products are guaranteed to provide film integrity and adhesion for the expected life of the paint system. Maintenance: Avoid cleaning the paint finish until at least four weeks after application time to ensure it has had sufficient time to fully develop its properties.
