- Walk on surfaces or areas with vehicular traffic such as driveways
- Terracotta roof tiles, pots, or tiles
After surface preparation and the quality of the paint itself, the next most important factor that contributes significantly to the life of the coating system is proper application. Coatings today are becoming more and more specialised in their use and in general require specific application methods which should be followed if the best results are to be achieved. Wattyl provide a range of useful instructions on the back of each can or pack. These instructions have been written especially for the product in the can and provide advice on what rollers, brushes or special tools may be required.

It's very important to select the right paint for the right surface. This will help with durability and performance, helping keep the paint looking good a long time.
Sheen levels
Sheen levels play an important part in helping to protect surfaces in high traffic areas such as hallways and family rooms. Other areas such as laundries and bathrooms need a sheen level that protects against moisture and dampness. Look for instructions on the front and back of the Wattyl Interior Design i.d packs so you can see what paint finish is best for your project.
