The Edwards Solar hot water systems come in several variations. The main distinction is between systems that heat the water directly in the solar collectors, and closed-loop systems that circulate an anti-freeze fluid through the collectors which in turn transfers heat to the water in the storage cylinder.
The Edwards LX series is a closed-loop indirect system that is more suitable for colder climates. This uses a special antifreeze that is heated through the collectors and then circulates through a stainless steel jacket that is wrapped around the storage tank, transferring heat into the water. These systems are available with a variety of solar collectors that are specifically designed to respond to the needs of varying climates. The Australis 2 for warmer climates, the Edwards Titan 7 riser collector panel that uses an advanced titanium coated copper solar absorber plate and the ultimate performing Edwards Titan Premium 13 riser collector panel which has superior solar performance for the coldest climates.
Edwards GreenGlo Series is the most predominant one for large solar applications. The GreenGlo cylinder is a mains pressure with multiple coils and is pre-configured to be plumbed into multiple heat sources, including solar, wet-back, electricity or gas. This allows flexibility of design and ease to upgrade, modify the system whenever desired. The GreenGlo tank has a main ring port, it is high temperature rated and come in nine sizes up to 1,000 litre.
Depending on the location and the system installed, an Edwards solar hot water system can potentially save up to 75% of your hot water bill and simultaneously reduces the amount of fossil fuel energy or electricity required to heat water.
Use of long life marine grade 444 stainless steel in the hot water cylinder acts as a natural barrier against corrosion and ensure durability.
The performance figures can be used in the Energy Model for Green Star NZ projects and can assist in obtaining points.
All insulation materials and anti-freeze products contained within the system have an Ozone Depleting potential of Zero in their manufacture and composition.
The products are compliant with AS/NZS 4234 and MEPS NZS 4692.1:2005.
7 year warranty.
This product can be factored into the Energy Modelling results for Green Star NZ projects and will provide a positive contribution.
