Sikadur® 51 is a two component, joint sealing compound based on flexible epoxy resins. Sikadur 51 when mixed is a thixotropic paste with excellent non slump properties. It can be applied using either a trowel, spatula or mastic gun as required. This product has a movement capacity of +/-2.5% and Shore A of 70, making this product suitable for heavy duty floor applications in mature concrete. It has been extensively used in NZ correctional facilities as a non pick sealant.
• Low VOC, tested in accordance with Green Star NZ requirements.
• Easy to mix and apply.
• Non sag on vertical surfaces.
• Excellent adhesion to most surfaces.
• Suitable for use in wide joints.
• Good mechanical strength.
• High modulus for joint edge support under heavy wheel loadings.

Sikadur 51 is ideal for sealing joints with little or no movement in heavy duty concrete floors.
• Cracks in concrete floors and walls can be ground out and sealed with Sikadur 51.
• Sikadur 51 is ideal for use in conjunction with Sikafloor and Sikagard epoxy coatings systems.
• Areas of patching and spalling in concrete can be repaired using Sikadur 51.
Limitations
Sikadur 51 is unsuitable for use in high movement joints.
Protect against water until hard. Not for use in underwater joints or applications.
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from any loosely adhering particles or surface contaminants such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
Establish depth by using rod or apply bond breaker tape to the back-surface if required.
Test adhesion without primer, use primer if necessary
Add the entire contents of Component B to Component A. Using a Sika mixing paddle attached to a low speed electric drill (max. 500 rpm) mix together until a smooth streak free paste is achieved.
Protect each outside face of the prepared joint with a layer of masking tape.
Apply Sikadur 51 using a Sika hand or pneumatically operated caulking gun at an angle to eliminate the inclusion of air pockets. Sealant should be firmly extruded into the joint, making sure it is in full contact with the sides of the joint.
Tool off sealant to achieve a smooth finish. Tooling will compress the sealant, promoting adhesion to joint walls. Remove masking tape before sealant starts curing.
