USG Boral is a leading manufacturer and supplier of gypsum-based wall and ceiling lining systems, mineral fibre acoustic ceiling tiles, metal framing, joint compounds and high-performance panels.

USG Boral plasterboard is composed of a gypsum core encased in 100% recycled paper on the front and backside, while USG Boral Fiberock® Aqua-Tough™™ is a unique paperless wall and ceiling lining made from synthetic gypsum fibres.

The following products and or services have been awarded the Good Environmental Choice Australia certificate, which is a GBCA and NZGBC approved Ecolabel.

Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) nominated products which are supplied to the New Zealand market include:

• Sheetrock® 10mm/13mm – Standard wall lining with superior sag resistance and easy score and snap.

• Shaftwall Liner 25mm– Shaftliner™ is a proprietary fire-stop plasterboard panel developed for use in USG Boral Intertenancy and Shaftwall systems.

• Fiberock® Aqua-Tough™ 10mm/13mm/16mm – USG Boral’s highest performing paperless gypsum-based interior lining. Fiberock is resistant to fire, water, sound, impact and mould with exceptional bracing properties.

• Firestop™  13mm/16mm - Designed for use in fire rated partition wall and ceiling systems.

Application and Purpose

USG Boral plasterboard products create sturdy walls, and offer a range of lightweight and cost effective options. Select from Sheetrock plasterboard to multi-performance technical linings to suit your application needs.

USG Boral recommends that a visual check of the board be undertaken as part of normal maintenance, for instance when the surface coating is reapplied. In the event that damage is apparent to the board then it must be repaired or replaced in accordance with the USG Boral Plasterboard Installation Manual - NZ.

 

Installation and Maintenance

USG Boral plasterboards can be ordered in multiple sizes. Sheets must be protected from internal and external moisture. It must not be used where likely to be exposed to liquid water or where extended exposure to humidity above 90% RH is expected. Cracks or damages must be repaired immediately. For fire rated systems and fire rated sealants these must be regularly inspected.
