Product Description

Melamine  -  Durable, easy care and with a range of colours designed to inspire, Prime Melamine is a popular choice for kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, furniture and more. The low pressure melamine panels are made to cope with life's knocks and carry a 10 year warranty.

Four distinct finishes are offered on all colours - Velvet, Embossed, Woodgrain and Wilderness (you can have gloss in any colour as long as it's white!).

Laser edging is available for 23 colours and standard PVC edging is available for all colour. Melamine has an extensive range of substrate options including MDF MR/EO, MDF FR and particleboard.  1800-wide panels are also available, giving added flexibility and affordability.

Veneer  -  The warmth, beauty and richness of natural wood veneer is enhanced by the variation in grain and colour in every sheet. There are more than 40 species to choose from in the Prime Natural Veneer collection.

Because Prime Natural Veneer is an authentic timber product you can expect variations and inconsistencies that only nature can provide.  This uniqueness means it cannot be mistaken for a man-made surface. Veneer panels are supplied uncoated and pressed onto your choice of MDF, MDF FR.  You should seek guidance from a reputable coating supplier when choosing how to stain or clear finish your veneer panels.

Manufacturer Information - NZ Panels Group

New Zealand Panels Group has its origins in Prime Panels which was established in 2002 and which later bought Impey's as a joinery distribution business for the North Island.    Since evolving into New Zealand Panels Group, the business has grown significantly by acquisition and increasing its product offering.  The three founding members of Prime Panels remain on the current board of NZ Panels Group.

Today it owns five product brands that operate in the decorative interior panels, custom door finishing, edge tape and benchtop sector, a manufacturing plant for particleboard flooring and panels.  Product brands include Prime Panels, Bestwood, Dezignatek, Arborline and Kopine.   Impey’s and Anthony Shearer are the two joinery distribution businesses operating in the North Island and South Island respectively.

Supplier Information - PrimePanels NZ Ltd

The story of Prime Panels goes back to the three founding partners - all now current directors on the New Zealand Panels Group Board - Robert (Webby) Webster, Nav Singh and Hugo Roest.

With a history in melamine and veneer production, sales and knowing how to have a good time, they set up Prime Panels in 2002 with little more than a second-hand melamine press and a 'can do' attitude.

Prime Panels grew to such an extent that it built a new production plant in Nelson and bought North Island joinery firm Impey's. And then attracted investor funding that saw the company become part of a larger entity called NZ Panels Group.

Prime Panels makes a comprehensive range of melamine, veneer, acrylic and high-pressure laminate panels for use in interior cabinetry, furniture and wall panels.   This includes the supply of matched standard or laser edge tape.  Benchtops include a newly refreshed range of formable high-pressure laminate panels, a Soft-Matt collection with matched edge-tape, as well as engineered quartz stone collections.

Prime Panels NZ maintain that their architectural managers are accredited Greenstar NZprofessionals, while the merchant and joinery account managers are seasoned professionals with a wealth of experience in the sector.

Manufacturing of the melamine, veneer, laminate and acrylic panels is all done under one roof at the newly built East Tamaki plant.
