Product Description

Jacobsens import and supply to the NZ market a number of Carpet tiles manufactured by Carpets Inter. The application for CIAL-ECS certification of these carpets is coordinated through an Australian distributor called Above Left, and the CIAL-ECS database and certificates mention Above Left as the licensee. This listing is limited to options on Ecosoft recycled PET backing.

The 3 main product groups represented on the current listing are:

  • Over the Ocean (Breaking Waves collection) - Over the Ocean was inspired by the movement of currents and reflected light on the surface of the water as seen from the air. The organic design can be used independently or coordinated with other styles to enhance the interior environment.
  • Ebb and Ebb Wash (Upstream collection) - Ebb is a dynamic organic pattern which co-ordinates with the Ebb Wash range. EBB-Wash adds a splash of colour to the Upstream Collection and is created to show the ebb and flow of the tides.
  • Flatlands (Breaking Ground collection), is named for the vast plains that cover much of the Earth, is an overall texture that is ideal for a monolithic look on the floor.

Technical and Environmental Benefits

  • Contributes towards points in multiple Green Building Rating Systems (Refer to "Green Building Info"  tab at the top of this page)
  • CIAL - ECS Level 4 certified

Installation and Maintenance

Installation:
Maintain the temperature of the installation site, carpet, and adhesive between a minimum temperature of 18°C and a maximum temperature of 35°C for 24 hours before installation. Relative humidity should not exceed 75%. Check the concrete for surface pH at several locations. A reading below 5.0 or above 9.0 requires corrective measures. Do not use sweeping compounds as they may leave oily deposits. The floor must be level and smooth. Depressions and cracks must be filled with a liquid latex additive patching compound and all protrusions levelled. Concrete floors must be sealed if dusting or powdering exists. The floor sealer used must be that recommended by the relevant adhesive manufacturer and used in the manner that they specify.

Maintenance:
Vacuuming is the most significant element in the maintenance of carpet and the overall appearance of the facility.
Between cleanings, regular use of a pile lifter can remove deeply embedded dry sand and soil. Spot removal products that have been tested and certified in the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) Seal of Approval Program for cleaning products are recommended for specific spots.
